2011 has been quite the year for me.
In January I...
Spent my first New Years in NY
Graduated college
Got and started my first real job
Played in the snow for the first time with pumpkin
In February
Road my bike to work everyday
Enjoyed being a "young professional"
Redecorated my room with my exciting new paychecks
In March
Worked a lot
Went to DC for a weekend with Nate where we visited with his fam and where he interviewed for a job
In April
I applied for the 300-hour
Went to Boston and visited friends with Nate
Enjoyed life, a lot.
In May
I turned 23
Took Restorative Yoga Teacher Training
Went to Newport, RI for our 3 year anniversary
"Graduated" from college at Yankee Stadium
Visited with family in NY
In June
Celebrated Nate's graduation with him and his family
In July
Flew to California for Didi and Kasey's wedding
Worked in the Corporate office in Santa Monica for a day
Spent time with Lisal and Scott
Spent 4th of July with my family
Said goodbye to Nate for what would be the first of many many goodbyes as he left for his first job
Searched for an apartments for an agonizing few weeks with my roommate Kathleen
In August
Moved to Brooklyn
Started paying student loans
Said goodbye to Nate who moved to California
Said goodbye to a handful of other good friends who had graduated and were leaving NY
Found the first of many roaches
Started teacher training
Got double the responsibilities at work
Began the first page of a very tough chapter
In September
Went home with my roommate, Kathleen for a weekend in Rochester
Witnessed the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in NY
Did a lot of yoga
Had a tough time adjusting to the abundance of life changes
Spent almost a grand flying to California after a cockroach/rapist breakdown (not one of my prouder moments)
In October
Discovered pinterest.com
Went to the Avocado Festival
Adjusted to life
Started teaching private yoga classes once a week
Introduced Pumpkin to her real life little brother, Mijo (my good friend Aaron adopted him after falling in love with Pumpkin - same breeder, same parents. They are best friends!)
In November
Began my obsession with Christmas 2011 and all that it would entail, especially decorations
Did a lot of yoga
Spent Thanksgiving with Nate
In December
Did a ton of online Christmas/Decor shopping
Did a lot of yoga (again)
Had a blast at the YogaWorks Holiday party
Got food poisoning
Missed my first day of Teacher Training in the past 4 months
Came to California
Spend my first Christmas with Nate
Got engaged
Test drove cars
Celebrated Nate's 23rd birthday with dinner in Santa Barbara
Went to the Huntington Library
Met and went to brunch with Nate's sweet Aunt
Visited family & friends
And now I am at the airport going back to NY, with hesitation. But the end is in sight. Things are going to get easier. And 2012 is sure to be a year with a lot of changes. But changes for the better. And a wedding to plan! Which will most likely be next January. Mrs. Nicole Buckley. I am beyond excited. And so ready. Bring it, 2012!
