Inspiration

"From joy all beings have come, by joy they all live, and unto joy they all return."
"Where there is joy, there is creation. Where there is no joy, there is no creation.
Know the nature of joy." – The Upanishads

In the last week I have done 66 hours of yoga, and have loved every minute of it. I honestly can't remember the last time I have felt this inspired. I leave the 9 hour day wanting to take on the world. And the deeper we dive into the material and the practices the more I feel that this is what I'm meant to do. I adore the philosophy part of yoga, and the deeper aspects of the practice that most people unfortunately don't get to experience. A very large part of me wants to drop out of school and do yoga, teach yoga, and learn about yoga every day. I feel so good.

Yoga heaven.

Today I went to yoga heaven. I didn't know if I'd be able to do it, if I'd have the money to do it, or even if I'd be accepted into it, but today the program I've been dreaming about for about four months finally began. So 9 hours a day, 5 days a week for the next 4 weeks I'm training to get my 200-hr yoga teacher certification. Today I picked up five huge books on yoga and a teacher manual filled with about 1000 pages of information... I have not been this excited about something in a LONG time. We're learning everything from anatomy to philosophy and we have a 2 hour asana practice that kicks my butt every morning. The teachers are amazing, and know their stuff more than any yoga teacher I've ever had and I'm so excited to dive into this with such intensity. I cannot wait to spend the next 4 weeks living and breathing everything yoga.

Eat, Pray, Love

So after almost a year, I finally finished this book! It's such a beautiful story about a woman who took a year to travel through Italy, India, and Indonesia and find herself. She goes through such an incredible journey and I honestly thing everyone can take something from this book! READ it, it's wonderful!

Savanna Bannana!

Today we gave my crazy dog, savanna a bath in the back yard. Quintero came to help me and made sure to take lots of pictures as the disgusting smell was shampooed out of my little pup. Savanna hates baths and managed to leap right out of her jacuzzi warm bath water while still completely lathered in dog shampoo! Eventually we hosed her all off (and blowdryed her!) and I think she knew how beautiful she looked because she seemed very happy. Oh savanna!

4th of July

This past weekend we had a family reunion of sorts on a little island off the coast of San Diego called Coronado. My whole dad's side of the family flew down from Texas, some of which I hadn't seen for five years. We spent alot of time laying by the pool and I spent alot of time milking my freshly legal id and ordering fun fruity drinks. Nate even came down and spent time with the family. The hotel we stayed at was super dog friendly- dogs everywhere! It was kind of amazing. I'm not going to lie, the best part of the vacation was meeting and playing with my new baby cousin, Dante. He has the biggest brown eyes and is so cute.

Nate and I got to sneak away the night of the 4th and watch fireworks right along the water of the island. It was freezing, but we got to see 3 different firework shows from where we were. It was all around a pretty good vacation.
